Therapy for LGBTQIASB+ folk that’s affirming, gentle, and led by you.

If things feel overwhelming, confusing, or hard to make sense of in relation to your identity, relationships, or where you fit in, you’re not alone in that. For many LGBTQIASB+ people, these experiences can come with extra layers.

Therapy here is about giving those feelings space in a way that feels safe, steady, and manageable ,  without pressure to have answers, labels, or certainty before you’re ready.

Unfurl is different.

We’re a neuroaffirming, low demand space.

You don’t have to come in with everything explained or figured out

There is no pressure to “perform”, mask, or show up in a certain way

No homework and a pace that actually works for you

Your experiences are taken seriously, even if you don’t have a diagnosis

Who are we for?

This space is for LGBTQIA+ teens and adults who want support with identity, mental health, or just navigating life as themselves.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. You might be questioning, exploring, fluid, newly discovering parts of yourself, or simply wanting a space where you don’t have to explain or justify who you are.

What you might explore here:

  • Gender identity and expression

  • Sexuality, attraction, and relationships

  • Coming out or not coming out

  • Family, friendship, and relationship dynamics

  • Anxiety, burnout, trauma, or stress

  • Self-esteem and self-understanding

  • The impact of masking or feeling “different”

How EMDR works:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy that supports your brain to process difficult experiences so they feel less overwhelming over time.

We use gentle forms of bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) while staying grounded and supported.

You stay in control throughout the process, and we move at a pace that feels manageable.

How we support You:

We take a neuroaffirming, person-centred approach that moves at your pace.

That means no assumptions, no pressure to label yourself, and no expectation to be anywhere other than where you are right now. We work collaboratively, focusing on safety, consent, and choice,  so therapy feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

You set the direction. We’re here to help you make sense of things, build self-understanding, and feel safe exploring who you are.
